A Meaningful Ceremony for Your Special Day

Yes. You are responsible for obtaining a valid Florida marriage license and bringing it to the ceremony. Notary Jo will complete the officiant section and arrange for the license to be returned after the ceremony. 

Ceremonies may be performed at homes, wedding venues, parks, beaches, and other approved locations throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Location availability and travel details are confirmed before booking. 

Booking as early as possible is recommended, especially for weekends and popular dates. Same-day or short-notice ceremonies may also be available depending on the schedule. 

After the ceremony, the Notary completes the required officiant section of your marriage license and returns it to the clerk’s office that issued it. Florida law requires the completed license to be returned within 10 days. 

Recording time varies depending on the clerk’s office and its current processing schedule. Once the completed license has been received and recorded, you may request a certified copy from the county that issued it. 

Florida residents generally have a three-day waiting period unless they complete an approved premarital course. Non-Florida residents are exempt from the waiting period. The ceremony must occur before the license expires, generally within 60 days of issuance.
